The Bridge of Connecting Three Villages in Batui is Cut Off

THE BRIDGE Of three villages/sub districts in Batui
sub-district, Banggai district, Central Sulawesi province, were cut by the
floods on Tuesday (26/6) morning, which resulted in the transportation access
to the three residential areas were isolated.

Chief Police of Batui, Iptu Chandra, on Tuesday,
revealed the high intensity of rain in the area caused some rivers to overflow.
It impacted the Ondo-ondolu bridge that became connection of three villages,
washed away at approximately 10.00 pm.

“The bridge is only semi-permanent, made of planks
and wooden pads, so it is easy to be dragged down,” said Iptu Chandra. The
three areas that are now unable to move on the bridge are Bakung Village,
Ondo-ondolu I and Batui Lima Village.The damage he said, makes people in three
areas can not do much because the bridge with a length of 5 meters, the only
road connecting citizens to other areas.

“I, the Danramil and the sub-district chief, are
still coordinating to find a way out of the problem, we have contacted the
Public Works Office and they are ready to help,” said Kapolsek, who was
awarded the exemplary police officer assisting the sick tribesmen who were
