The Bahodopi Situation Began to be Condusive

THE SECURITY Forces, government, religious leaders, and communities in Morowali District, Central Sulawesi Province continued trying to cool the situation in Bahodopi which was tainted by a clash between the two groups (10/27/2018) yesterday. The peace agreement was signed by various parties, in the hope that the situation in Bahodopi would be conducive again.

The peace agreement between the two conflicting groups in Bahodopi, Morowali District, Central Sulawesi was signed on Sunday, 28 October 2018. During a meeting at the Bahodopi Mapolsek involving Morowali District Forkopimda, sub-district governments, village heads, religious leaders, youth leaders and each representatives of the conflicting groups agreed to fully support the peace efforts in Morowali region, especially in Bahodopi District.

Another point of the agreement stated that, people who entered from other areas that went to the Bahodopi area and carried out the anarchic actions were immediately repatriated. The agreement also stated that all the cafes in Bahodopi area would be disciplined by the security forces.

After signing the peace agreement, it is no longer allowed to concentrate on the community groups with the aim of carrying out the provocative actions or actions that are against the law.

Chief Morowali Police, AKBP Dadan Wahyudi told reporters at Bahodopi hoping that after the agreement will be able to re-establish the tolerance between the communities. Head of Bahodopi sub-district, Jalaludin said to cool the situation, he was trying to socialize the achievements of the peace agreement to all citizens in the region.**
