SINCE FRIDAY (11/16/2018), doctorShare placed the Nusa Waluya
II Floating Hospital (RSA) at the Pantoloan pier in Palu. RSA Nusa Waluya II
provided health services for the communities affected by disasters in Palu,
Sigi and Donggala.

The activities carried out with RSA Nusa Waluya II
were post-disaster health rehabilitation such as general treatment, minor and major
surgery. In addition, the handling of post-disaster psychological trauma and
health education is also a focus of doctorSHARE in serving the disaster
affected communities in Central Sulawesi. With 34 team members and nurses, the
activity this time was titled “Floating Hospital Barge Nusa Waluya II for
Palu”.

During the service until yesterday (Sunday,
11/18/2018), the team has served 167 general treatment patients, 8 major
surgical patients and 16 minor surgical patients. Most general treatment
patients came from around Pantoloan, Tawaili and Wani. For major surgery, the
cesarean has more cases.

One team of psychic trauma, Ita Sugiato said that
the first RSA in the world was equipped with expert doctors and inpatient
rooms, operating rooms and clinics like hospitals.
“Floating hospitals are built for the needs of the people in the archipelago,
especially in remote areas including in the disaster areas. We also just
returned from Lombok,”said Ita Sugiato. While the captain of the Nusa Waluya II Hospital, Taufik Hidayat, said he was
grateful to be able to serve the community.

“Being able to interact with the community
and share is our own happiness,” said Taufik, who had only been aboard the
ship for eight months. It is planned that this RSA will serve the victims of
the Pasigala Disaster until December 2018.
