PRESIDENT Joko Widodo inaugurated a new airport and developed four airport terminals, all of which were built on Sulawesi Island. For information, the newly completed Morowali airport this year was erected on an area of ​​158 hectares and is equipped with a 1,500 meter runway and 1,000 square meters of passenger terminal facilities. This airport is located in Umbele Village, Bumiraya District, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi.

The construction of the new airport further adds the connectivity of Morowali Regency to big cities such as Kendari, Palu and Makassar. Before the existence of this airport, local people had to take land and sea routes to other cities. ***
